LE CEFRIO releases NETendances: "The craze for social media in Quebec"
Last April, we announced Adviso's partnership with CEFRIO. Today, we are very happy to announce the launch of the 2011 NETendances on social media, volume 1.
The results of this NETendances reveal that 73% of Quebec Internet users carry out at least one activity on social media once a month . These activities may be viewing content, interacting with others, maintaining a profile, relaying information or even creating content. Behavioral differences can be observed depending on the age of Internet users. Millennials come first in their participation in social media, not surprisingly, since we see that 93% of 18 to 34 year olds consult content on social media and 84% exchange information on the various platforms . . Much higher proportion than other age groups, although baby boomers and seniors are still numerous to integrate social media.
For companies that are still wondering about the relevance of social media: A third of Quebec Internet users have already followed an organization (brand, company, organization or ministry) on social media, a proportion that reaches 44% among those aged 25 to 34 year. In addition, without specifically following it, 56% of Quebec Internet users say they have already interacted with a company or organization on social media .
