Facebook Power Editor: a miraculous ad campaign management tool
Producing a media buy campaign on Facebook through the Web UI can be really long, laborious and even painful.

I've been there, and even worse... At the request of a client, I had to modify more than a hundred ads by hand (directly via the Web UI). Just thinking about the number of my browser tabs open during this task increases my heart pressure. The time taken to make these changes was simply unacceptable!
But, for several months now, Adviso's performance media buying department has been using Facebook's Power Editor. Released last summer, this tool makes our job exponentially easier on several aspects!
WHAT IS POWER EDITOR?
Power Editor is a web application only compatible, for the moment, with Google Chrome. The tool was built entirely on the Facebook Ads API. Thus, it is possible to import the content (campaigns, ads, images, etc.) of an account to make changes quickly, and this, in a few clicks.
Once Google Chrome is installed, it is possible to download the application from this link. The tool behaves like an offline application, but actually isn't. Let me explain: in order to be able to work on a campaign, we must import the data into Power Editor in order to then be able to do the desired work. Once done, just upload the changes and everything is online. However, since it is a web application, it is impossible to open the interface without having access to the Internet.
Power Editor was designed to facilitate tasks such as managing and creating campaigns and ads across different campaigns or different accounts. It also allows you to create and edit ads in bulk like Google's tool, Adwords Editor. In addition, it is compatible with Excel, i.e. it is possible to copy-paste Power Editor elements directly into an Excel file (or vice versa).
HOW DOES POWER EDITOR WORK?
First, for importing accounts, you can choose the option that suits you the most. Here is what will be available to you when you first run the application.
All of your projects will be categorized by account in the section on the far left of your screen (Section A of the image). You will be able to travel through your campaigns, see their content within a few clicks, and this, without loading pages and therefore, without waiting time!
Once your campaign is chosen (and clicked on), its content will appear in the center of your screen (section B). This will allow you to change the settings of your ads (or your campaign) easily and quickly, if you wish.
In section C will appear the editable parameters of an ad (or campaign) that you would normally find in the web interface. The options displayed will change depending on the tab chosen above (located at the top of section B).

Be stubborn, because Power Editor is. When submitting ads, several errors can occur without you even understanding the reason. I do think that Power Editor sometimes has a hard time understanding itself. In short, relaunch the submission and see the result. In most cases, everything will be online after a few times.
Over the past few months, several updates have been made; the tool is progressing very well, so as to benefit its user. Nevertheless all the small bugs existing with Power Editor, the application remains effective and very useful for any manager of large advertising campaigns of the Facebook network.
