New publication: The Online Retail Trade in Canada: Home Renovation

In partnership, Adviso Consulting and the RBC Financial Group Chair of E-Commerce have released their third industrial report on e-business. The objective of this report is to clarify the impact of electronic business on the retail trade industry, specifically on the home renovation sector. This publication evaluates innovation and identifies e-business best practices in the home renovation sector.

The publication confirms that the current goal of home renovation merchants’ web sites is not necessarily to sell products online but rather to sell the idea of a renovation project in order to boost spending on home renovation material. Online services also enable companies to reduce in-store interventions with sales representatives since consumers can find most of the information they need directly on the merchant’s web site.
