Oprah is on Twitter. And so what?

I wrote few weeks ago a post on those Hollywood stars who tweet. I was kind of surprised and amused by them. I was pretty impressed by how Ashton and Demi Moore were the only celebrities I identified to totally understand how Twitter works and how to use it for their branding. Except the following-followers thing; but that's another story...

And then, last week, Ashton uses his star influence. If his Twitter account was raising 1 million followers, (so more than CNN), then he would give money to a charity in order to fight malaria

On the same period, Oprah invited on her show Evan Williams, cofounder of Twitter. Knowing the influence of Oprah's show, this live Tweet was the announcement of a new turn for Twitter! (By the way, on the same day, a fake Oprah began to follow me. What a funny coincidence!)

And so the Twitter blogosphere began to be on a real agog all the last week. A lot of people from the Twittersphere was shocked by the Oprah "appearance".

-     Yes.

-     Are you sure it’s the real ones? Anyone could take this name.

-     That’s what I thought but it looks real. They’re posting pictures of them with Twitpic, filming them and writing comments. They really look real.”
